I am a lifelong resident of the West Suburbs who specializes in residental electrical service. I am insured, bonded, licensed as as a residential electrician. I have been an electrician for over a decade, including finishing a 5-year accredited apprenticeship. I have worked on projects of all sizes, including building high rises and data centers in Chicago. I've even worked in the Sears Tower for a year (though I did not get to climb the spires unfortunately). It is fun being able to see the skyline at night and know you installed quite a few of the lights that are twinkling up there, and to know that at least some of the websites (perhaps this one) are running off of servers you connected power to. I consider this a rewarding career, where my work has immediate and visible improvements to the world around me.
I was raised in Naperville and attended Benet before graduating from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Film Studies (which assured my eventual construction career!). I taught English in Vietnam for several years, where I met my lovely wife, Van. We live together along the DuPage River now with our new son, Findley. After returning to the States, I joined the electrical trade in early 2015, and I have been in business now as a standalone residential contractor since 2022.
I have a passion for nature and spend much of my free time enjoying the beautiful parks in the area or planning/going on a backpacking trip. Last year I did a part of the PCT in the northern Sierra. I look forward to taking my son up into the mountains in a few years. I also enjoy going up to northern Michigan with my family each year, either to camp or spend time on the lake. Lastly, I love to travel internationally. I've been back to Asia several times since moving home, and occasionally I get to Europe as well. I visited Tamil Nadu for a month back in 2007 to make a short documentary as my first visit to Asia and absolutely loved the experience, and I've been hooked on traveling since.
